I Will Love You, Again

“I will love you, again,”

I said to myself, as I looked in the mirror and paused at the sight.

“I will love you, again,

Yes, you, with your face full of longing for spirit, for wisdom, for light.”

“I will love you, again,

And this time I promise to cherish the beauty your life has bestowed.”

“I will love you, again,

You, who loves with a heart that has loved with the passion of heroes untold.”

“I will love you, again,

As I look in your eyes and I hold your sweet face in the palms of my hands.”

“I will love you again,

You, my Life, you, my Heart, you, Myself,

I will love you all over again.”

You are loved by so many. You love others with all that you are. Give a little bit of that love back to yourself.

Look in the mirror. Smile at that beautiful sight you see before your eyes.

You are alive! You are right here, right now, in this world and

You are loved!

It’s Prayer Vigil Friday! 08/26/11

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His promises never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ~ Lamentations 3:22-23

Welcome to Prayer Vigil Friday.

This Prayer Vigil Friday is dedicated to those whose hearts are angry and whose faith is tried.

One of the things I have learned on this journey through infertility, is that putting my faith and hope in God, and trusting in His plan for my life, is not something I can do just once and expect it to stick. I used to feel guilty for telling God that I was turning all of my worries over to Him, only to turn around the next day and find myself blaming Him for the fact that I wasn’t getting pregnant – and that everyone else I knew was.

When you pray to God, pray honestly. Seriously. Don’t just pray what you think you should feel, or what you imagine would be the “nice” thing to pray – like telling Him you’re turning it all over to Him and expecting it to magically happen. It won’t work. Pray to God with every single emotion you are feeling. If you are angry, tell Him. If you blame Him, tell Him. If you need to yell and scream, then sweetheart, go in a room, close the door, and YELL. But do it with all of your heart. Don’t just pray silently. Say the words. Sometimes saying the words you’ve been afraid to admit you’re feeling is EXACTLY what you need to do – and the safest ears for those vocalized feelings to fall upon are God’s. It’s the only way to truly deal with what you are feeling, so that at some point, you won’t turn to God for blame, but will turn to God for comfort, for security and for protection. Do it every single day. Never give up. Never ever give up….ever.

Dear Lord, I am angry, frustrated and lost. I want to experience the joy that I see so many others experiencing. I want to know the joy of being a mother. I don’t understand why I’m going through this.  Help me to work through the bitterness. Help me find peace in my heart. If I cannot know why this is happening to me, then help me find a way to get rid of this debilitating anger that wells up inside me. The turmoil in my heart makes it impossible for me to even complete a thought, much less a prayer. Shine on me Lord. I need to feel your comfort. Help me breathe again. It’s been so long since I felt like I could breathe.

Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD; may your love and your truth always protect me. For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me. ~ Psalm 40:11-12

I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. ~ Psalm 116:1-2

Hear me as I pray, Lord. Sit beside me and allow me to feel your comforting arms around my shoulders. Offer me your love and understanding. Renew my hope and light a spark in my heart that will continue to burn until the anger within me begins to melt away.

Be not far from me, O God; come quickly, O my God, to help me. ~ Psalm 71:12

In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ~ Romans 8:37

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. ~ Psalm 28:7

Give me the strength to continue on my journey. Help me remain steadfast in my faith. Guide me in the path you have laid out before me, in the direction of Your will for my life. Surround me with understanding people who will help me keep a sound mind and a grounded faith.

Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. ~ Psalm 61:1-4

You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word. ~ Psalm 119:114

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. ~ Psalm 143:8-10

Lord, Thank you for the blessings in my life. Thank you for family and friends who love me. Thank you that I see the world with different eyes, and have the opportunity to reach out to other women to offer support and an understanding ear. Help me not to be afraid to reach out for help. Help me to trust those around me with my struggle with infertility. I will not be ashamed, but will be proud of the fight within me to battle infertility.

Give me strength, Lord. Warm my heart and soothe my battered spirit. Heal me from within so that I can continue to take advantage of every single opportunity I am given. Keep me alert to the options I am given. Lay a path before me and present the choices before me in such a way that there is no question what path I should take.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. ~ Psalm 62:5-8

Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. ~ Hebrews 13:5

I pray this prayer with all of the love and faithfulness I can muster within. I pray this prayer with a vulnerability that only you can nurture and protect. I pray this prayer with all of my sisters – and together we pray that through the mighty power of your love, you will hear our united voices as one, and bless us with your powerful presence in our lives, and your comforting peace in our souls. In Your Holy and Precious Name, Amen.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. ~ Romans 15:13

Put some time aside today, even if it’s a few minutes or 20 minutes. Close the door, close your eyes, dim the lights, light a candle, whatever you need to do to focus and spend some prayerful time with God. Pray for women you know, pray for women you don’t know. Then take some time and pray for yourself. Spend some time reflecting over the past week, over any frustrations you’ve had, whatever you’ve been putting off talking over with God. Get angry if you need to. Cry if you need to. Smile and give thanks if you need to!

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16

This scripture truly is what Prayer Vigil Friday is all about:

“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” ~Matthew 18:19-20

Let’s join in one big prayer all day today!

Challenge 6 – Love Comes Rushing In

My baby brother is a firefighter paramedic – so right off I have a soft spot in my heart for firemen and women. With the 10 year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks coming up in a few weeks, a lot of the heroic stories of that tragic day are beginning to resurface. Here in Texas and across the southern states, drought conditions and month after month of 100+ degree days have had firefighters battling raging wildfires for days on end with only minimal rest in-between shifts. Most of the firefighters also volunteer at surrounding county fire stations, sometimes not even taking breaks at the end of their shifts before heading out to neighboring counties to volunteer fighting fires, many having to fight to save their own homes.

Firefighters and First Responders come to our rescue with nothing but protecting us and our homes on their minds. They have chosen a profession that often will put their own safety on the line, but the courage in their hearts and the determination to show up, to intervene, and bring peace to a situation that is out of control proves them heroes over and over again. They love what they do, and when they are called, that love comes rushing into our lives.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.” – Ambrose Redmon

Challenge 6 –

Locate all of the fire stations and volunteer fire stations in your area and send them a letter, a card, some of those yummy cake balls, anything to show them how much we appreciate their presence in our lives and in our communities.

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives and the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”
— Audrey Hepburn

Stay beautiful my dears!

It’s Prayer Vigil Friday! 08/19/11

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:12

Praying for another person is one of the most intimate and personal ways to give your support. It creates a bond between the three of you – you, that person and God – that cannot be broken and will remain as long as you support it through prayer. When we pray together, when we pray for each other, we are not easily broken.

Dear Lord, Bless these women who gather in diligent prayer for each other day after day. Remind us that we do not have to wage our wars alone. Thank you for guiding us to others who will walk alongside of us and encourage us not to give up in our quest to glorify You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Our walk here on earth is a path. God is going to lead us, direct us. We need to go to God in prayer, get into His Word and trust and follow his direction. Welcome to this week’s Prayer Vigil Friday.

Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. ~ 1Thessalonians 5:11

We all have times in our lives when our faith feels tested. Some of you may be going through that season in your life today, where everything just seems to be going wrong and no matter what you do, life just doesn’t seem to be going in the right direction. As children of God, we know that our faith will always be tested. God never said life here on Earth would be easy. He did say He is here for us always. So, when life is turned upside down, the only thing I know to do is get on my knees, pray without ceasing and trust that God has total control. The outcome I may be hoping for is not always what God has in mind, but I need to learn to let go and to trust in the direction of His will.

Dear Lord, help me to realize and remember the secret to being content in all circumstances is You. Help me to be aware of Your presence in my life at all times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

We all struggle so hard to fight the depressed, angry, bitter infertile woman living inside us. Some of us have reached a point where we can talk about our infertility without breaking down. Some of us cannot even breathe the words to another soul without crumbling inside. There is so much healing that has to take place over and over and over again. It doesn’t take much to undo what one has worked so hard to build up inside. I pray that we all find our strength to grasp infertility and overcome it with the faith, the courage and the pure determination to continue living  fully satisfying lives as the beautiful, sensual and womanly creatures we are.

Lord, Your Word says I am a chosen woman, a woman belonging to You. Help me remember that You are calling me out of the darkness of my doubts so that I can tell others about the Light I’ve found in You. Thank You that You are with me to fight for me against my enemies of insecurity and inadequacy. In all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You. ~ Psalm 143:8

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this. ~ Psalm 37:3-5

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you or abandon you. ~ Deuteronomy 31:16

Put some time aside today, even if it’s a few minutes or 20 minutes. Close the door, close your eyes, dim the lights, light a candle, whatever you need to do to focus and spend some prayerful time with God. Pray for women you know, pray for women you don’t know. Let It Shine, Girl…

You are the light of the world.  ~ Matthew 5: 14-16

The brighter you shine, the more brilliantly you illuminate those around you.

Be inspiring.

In the same way light drives out darkness, carry your light in front of you always and be a driving force in your world.

Be dazzling.

In the same way light springs from the shadows, manifest God’s glory within you and be the light of truth that bursts through the shadow of doubt.

Be remarkable.

Let what you do shine in a way that helps people see who God is.

Be brave.

So go ahead and let it shine, girl.

Sh*t My Uterus Says: Sass is the New Pink

Well it’s been a few months since her last little tantrum so to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t surprised when the notes started showing up again over the past couple of days.

And so with a shaking head and a crooked smile I now present to you the third installment of:

Apparently she is a very hostile environment for sperm.

I woke up with this one stuck to my forehead the day after watching a childbirth video. I must admit, I have a whole new respect myself.

Now she’s just making excuses…lame.

She’s so gossipy.

She’s a little extra crampy this month. We all are.

Oh well, let’s hope this current ranting spree got most of her aggression out for a while. I just never know with her. Sometimes she just decides to make herself heard at the most inopportune times.

Until next time

Waking Up to Romance

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.~ Deuteronomy 6:5

This morning I picture you sleepily opening your eyes to the morning, waking up along with the sun.

Butterflies dance in your stomach as you remember the date you made this morning. With anticipation, you grab your robe and slippers and go into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee and prepare for your rendezvous.

As you curl up in your meeting place, your favorite place, maybe it’s the bright red overstuffed couch, maybe it’s the old wooden porch swing outside, you take a deep breath and prepare your heart for your beautiful romance.  A feeling of excitement and of things yet to come brings a smile to your face as you say good morning to God and spend a few moments just sitting with him in silence on the porch swing.

Then, as you talk to Him about the desires of your heart, you praise Him and thank Him for the joy in your life. And you do have joy in your life, because this morning, He is with you.

Affection wraps you in the assurance of comfort and of protection. Passion awakens your soul and inspires your mind.

You open your bible and read scripture together.

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.~ Song of Solomon 8:6-7

A heart in love with God only desires to love Him more, and therefore bears no room for doubt or deception.

Fall in love.

Enjoy your morning.

Carry God with you throughout the day, and all the rest of your life.

And each morning, wake up to the renewal of love, passion, and God’s everlasting embrace.

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. ~ Psalms 90:14

What a sweet romance.

It’s Prayer Vigil Friday! 08/11/11

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. ~ Galatians 6:2

One thing I have learned over the last six months is that I could not have come this far, and stayed this positive, were it not for the love, support and willingness of others to share my burden with me – and for me to share the burden of others as well. I am so thankful for all of you who pray with me, who pray for each other, and who are so encouraging, supportive and uplifting.

Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

Welcome to Prayer Vigil Friday!

Please pray for those of us who need to reinvigorate our faith and strength as we face another day of pills, poking, prodding and pregnancy tests. Pray for those of us who are about to begin or who are smack in the middle of our two week wait. Pray that we not lose our heads, nor our hearts, and that we continue to find the strength and courage to make it through every obsessive moment of our all consuming wait.

Lord God, you are our strength. Help us to become stronger than our challenges today. Protect us from our weaknesses, our anxieties and our frustrations. Free us from our fears and give us the strength to keep taking those steps forward – especially when each step seems not to be going anywhere. Thank you for all of the sweet understanding spirits you have placed in our paths, whose  faith is boundless and whose caring and understanding ways are such a blessing to us all. Lord, bless each and every woman, man and couple in this infertility community who have opened their hearts to us. Thank you that through all of our chaotic lives, we have found unity. Amen.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” Proverbs 3:5…and you will find all of the courage you need.

Please pray for our sisters who are hurting and struggling after a miscarriage. Visualize God sitting beside them, His loving arms wrapped around them, whispering in their ears, “I’m so sorry you are hurting sweet girl. I’m so sorry you are going through this. Know that the sun will shine on you again.” The one and only question they are asking right now is WHY? Why does this have to happen? We cannot provide answers, but we can provide support. We can shed tears for their little ones who were loved beyond belief during their precious existence. We can pray for healing for their broken hearts, we can pray for comfort for their heavy shoulders, and we can pray for strength for the steps that lay ahead of them. Please pray for these women and for all who are grieving the loss of a loved one today.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. ~Matthew 5:4…There must be a time of mourning, there will be a time of anger, but comfort will come.

Dear Lord, watch over these precious women and give them comfort. Protect them in these days of vulnerability and pain. Heal their bodies as you heal their spirits. Give them peace as they feel Your loving presence wrapped around them. Bless them with love, with joy and with courage to face today and everyday as they mourn and heal. Bless them in ways only You can, full of Your power and worthy of Your glory. See them through and never ever let them feel alone. Amen.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.~ Joshua 1:9

Please pray for couples who are struggling with infertility. Pray that God will bless the marriages of these couples and the bonds that have developed between them. Pray that God will strengthen their marriages as they share the burden of disappointments and losses – and also as they provide hope and encouragement for each other. Pray they remain strong in their faith, and that together they lean on God for support, and remember His strength when they are weak.

But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.~Psalm 5:11

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing with hope. ~Romans 15: 13

Put some time aside today, even if it’s a few minutes or 20 minutes.
